What causes wrinkles? In a word; aging; but there are other factors that can accelerate the wrinkling process.
*Exposure to direct sunlight for extended periods of time without using a sufficient sun block is most definitely a wrinkle causing factor in today’s world.
Skin that is tanned to a dark golden hue is considered to be a sign of health and beauty in women and a sign of virility in men.
In years gone by, a pale skin that had never been exposed to the suns rays was considered to be a mark of beauty in women and a sign or wealth and power in men (only those who had to do manual labor were tanned).
*An unhealthy diet can accelerate the wrinkling process. A diet that is rich in whole grains, fruits and vegetables will help to delay wrinkling.
*Lack of exercise is a wrinkle accelerator. Regular exercise keeps the blood circulating and waste being disposed of.
*Smoking cigarettes makes the skin wrinkle faster, yet another reason to quit…or never start. The same is true of cigars and snuff. Sudden extreme weight loss causes the skin to wrinkle….a blow to crash dieting!
*Harsh soap accelerates wrinkling. You should always use a soap that is ph balanced and not one that contains deodorizers or perfumes.
*Chlorine in swimming pools in very hard on the skin and increases the rate at which it wrinkles.
*Very hot baths and showers will accelerate skin wrinkling. A warm bath or a warm shower is better for the skin that very hot ones.
*A lack of the correct vitamins and minerals either in diet or in supplements will certainly cause the skin to age (wrinkle) much faster than it should. Antioxidants are vital to skin health.
WHAT ARE WRINKLES: The skin is made up of three
layers.
1. The epidermis or the outer layer.
2. The dermis or the middle layer
3. The subcutaneous or inner layer
Young skin isnt wrinkled because it holds moisture well and has a high level of elasticity; that is it stretches easily. The middle layer of the skin, the dermis, contains fibers called elastin and a protein called collagen.
As people age, their dermis loses both elastin and collagen. The skin gets thinner with this loss and becomes drier because it is harder for the dermis to get moisture. There is fat in the subcutaneous layer of the skin. As people age, they lose the fat in subcutaneous layer and this causes the skin to begin to sag.
People do not get wrinkles at a certain age. There are people in their 20s who have wrinkles around their eyes called crows feet because they squint their eyes a lot or because they smoke or because they spend too much time in the sun without using proper sun screen.
There are also people in their 50s and 60s that have very few wrinkles. Sometimes this is because they have an abundance of sebum in their skin. Sebum is natural skin oil that the body produces.
Heredity has an affect on how early in life wrinkles begin to appear. Members of some families will just wrinkle earlier than members of other families. Its all in the genes we inherit. There are several things that young people can do that will help to prevent or at least prolong wrinkling in their later years.
*Always use a sunscreen when being exposed to direct sunlight. This sunscreen needs to have an SPF (Sun Protection Factor) of at least 15.
*Dont go to tanning salons.
*Dont smoke
*Stay well hydrated
*Use skin moisturizing creams

What is the worst part of getting older? Yes, you guessed it, wrinkles. Wrinkles are a part of life: When you get older, you move slower, and your face starts to sag. If you are one of those who wear your wrinkles like a badge of honor, then you must be thinking that they make you look wise and distinguished. As such, congratulations on being happy with yourself. For the rest of us, there are some treatments and home remedies available today that will help in the fight against the effects of aging.
Concern about healthy skin has dated back to the days of Cleopatra, Queen of the Nile. Natural and easy to use skin care products are widely available for your purchasing needs. But before doing that, you need to know what causes wrinkles. They are the result of excessive exposure to sunlight or UV radiation, pollution, and decreased estrogen levels. Even smoking has been said to create a wrinkle or two. These things lead to collagen or protein break down in the skin. Also, using the muscles in your face to frown or smile causes wrinkles to form overtime. And of course, good old gravity will cause the skin to loosen up and sag a little as well. Wrinkles are formed when the external layer of skin, known as the Epidermis, starts to thin, and the internal layer of skin called the Dermis stops holding it as firmly as it used to.
However, there is hope.
If you are like most people, then you may want to try a good facial scrub or cream. Facials and facial scrubs open up the pores of the skin, allowing the skin to breathe. Also, although your husband loves the way you look in make up, remember to remove it from your face daily. It is a well known fact that makeup left on the skin will clog your pores.
Another type of wrinkle treatment is that involving the use of cleansing milk or lime juice. They help with the removal of any oils that may cause your pores to clog. In addition, regular facials and fingertip massages to the face will help put those pesky wrinkles back into their places. To fight blemishes and remove spots, use lemon juice as a facial rinse a few times a day.
Avoiding the sun and not tanning are some of the best methods of keeping healthy skin. If at all possible, stop smoking and drinking, because the long term effects of alcohol abuse and regular smoking will cause your body to age more rapidly. Most experts agree that stress will also cause your body to age quickly. So, try to avoid stressful situations as well as stressful relationships. Go for regular check ups at your doctor’s and try to eat healthily, although it is hard to do so with fast food joints being at almost every corner. Try to resist the temptation! A home cooked meal and plenty of water will not only change the way you look, but also how you feel.
Always remember that the road to healthy skin begins with a healthy body. So, use these wrinkle treatments regularly and you will be able to get youthful looking skin in no time.

Do you remember when you were a kid and making ugly or funny faces was a game? Do you remember the adults in your world telling you to quit doing that or your face will freeze?
Actually, the adults probably didn’t really know it but there was a grain of truth in the statement. Our facial expressions do have some effect on the formation of wrinkles.
When you make facial expressions, muscles are contracted and relaxed. That’s what effects facial expression. When you frown, your mouth turns down. When you worry, you draw your eye brows together.
When you think, you wrinkle your forehead. When you laugh, your mouth turns upward. When you are exposed to sudden bright light you squint. However, there really isn’t much we can do about the wrinkles that are caused by repeated facial expressions.
There are some things that we can do even from a very early age to, if not prevent, at least delay
wrinkling.
*Use a sun block that is at the very minimum SPF15. SPF is an acronym for Sun Protection Factor. For any extended sunlight exposure you need skin protection.
*Wear sunglasses when you are outside particularly on very bright days. This will help to prevent squinting and squinting cases crows feet (wrinkles around the eyes).
*Do not go to tanning salons. The rays emitted by the lamps in tanning salons are the same those of natural sunlight; or at least nearly so; and they can damage your skin and cause wrinkles.
*Do not smoke. Smoking causes wrinkles.
*Drink a lot of fluid; preferably water. There are no calories, preservatives or artificial flavors in just plain water. Staying well hydrated helps to prevent premature wrinkling.
*Use skin moisturizing creams. There are many that are sold commercially. The price has no bearing on the benefits provided. You can even make your own moisturizers from products that you already have in your kitchen.
WRINKLE REMOVAL TECHNIQUES:
Wrinkles! They are a plague! We dont want those things on our faces; they make us look OLD. Have you ever done the backside test? Examine the skin on your posterior and note how smooth and wrinkle free it is. That is the same way the skin on your face would look without those darn wrinkles.
The skin on your backside has never been exposed to the elements (sunlight) and the underlying muscles are not used constantly like the muscles in your face. We begin using the muscles in our face at birth.
When babies cry they are using facial muscles. Repeated contraction and relaxation of muscles when we make facial expressions is one of the causes of wrinkles, as are, exposure to sunlight and just plain old garden variety aging.
There are a variety of skin rejuvenation medical techniques that can help erase years from the face. One such technique is chemical peeling. There are several different acetic solutions that a dermatologist has at his disposal. He will use the one that is indicated by the depth of the wrinkles.
Another technique used to make wrinkles appear less severe is dermabrasion. This technique is, in effect, the sanding of the skin much in the same way that a board is sanded smooth by rubbing it with sandpaper.
Lasers are used now to help resurface the skin and alleviate wrinkles. Lasers have been found to be a very useful tool for many medical procedures and the removal of wrinkles is one of them. Using various fillers by injecting them into the offending wrinkle is yet another method of wrinkle removal.
Face lifts, brow lifts, neck lifts and other plastic surgery techniques for lifting the face and removing wrinkles has been around for many years. None of these procedures are a permanent fix for wrinkles but all of them can help to make wrinkles less noticeable and postpone the inevitable effects of aging on our faces.
